Matthew 9:35-10:4

Jesus Surveys the World

  I.  The world seen through the eyes of Jesus.
 

      A.  The compassion of the Savior.
     

      B.  The sheep without a shepherd. (Numbers 27:16-17; Matthew 7:15;
Psalm 44:22-26.)
     

      C.  The harvest truly is plentiful. (John 4:35, 36).
     

      D.  The workers needed for the harvest. (John 4:38).
     

  II.  The work assigned to Jesus’ disciples in this world.
 

      A.  To pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his
harvest.
     

      B.  The Lord of the harvest sends our his workers.
     

      C.  Jesus equips his disciples for the harvest.
     

   III. Our continuing duty of Christian service today.
 

      A.  Pray: plead the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his
harvest. (1Cor 3:5-9).
     

      B.  Prepare: prepare for your own service in the Lord’s harvest.
     

      C.  Participate in the Lord’s harvest.
     

      D.  Jesus uses ordinary people to accomplish great, heavenly
purposes. (1Cor 1:26-29).
     

      E.  Souls are harvested out of the world and into the church.
