Matthew 8:5-13

As you have believed, so let it be done to you.

  I.  The centurion’s place.
 

      A.  In society.
      B.  In the story.
      C.  In the gospel. Ephesians 2:12; Matt 9:11-12; Matt 3:11; Ephesians
3:5-6.
     

  II.  The centurion’s faith.
 

      A.  Where is it from? John 6:37-38; Ephesians 2:8; Matt 16:17.
      B.  What is the desire of his faith?
      C.  What is the fulfillment of the centurion’s faith? Psalm
107:19-20; Psalm 130:5-6.
     

   III. The centurion’s blessing.
 

      A.  To sit down at God’s banquet. Isaiah 25:6-9; Revelation 19:9.
        

The alternative is eternal destruction. Matt 7:22; 8:12; 13:41; 22:12; 24:51; 25:30.

      B.  The fruition of the centurion’s faith.
         1.  The assurance of a true and living faith.
         2.      He could look forward to a place in the kingdom of
heaven. Romans 9:8; Galatians 3:29.
     C.  The healing of his trusted young servant.
    

   IV. Jesus Christ, the centurion’s Lord, and ours.
 

     A.  He knows your place too.
    

     B.  He is the goal of true Christian faith. John 6:39-40;
Hebrews 3:14-15..
    

     C.  Christ is the source of all blessing.
