Matthew 7:7-11

Ask, seek, knock.

1. People who ask, seek, knock, are people looking for something.

   1. Travelers are looking for the right way.

  1. Disciples of Jesus are looking to follow Him.

• Matthew 16:24, Galatians 2:20

  1. The Lord assures we will find answers and success in our quest.

• Deuteronomy 4:29, Isaiah 55:6, Psalm 27:8; 40:16; 70:4; 105:3, Jeremiah 29:13, Hebrews 4:16

• The character of God encourages us to ask, and to receive.

  1. God our Father: Creator, Lord of heaven and earth, Protector, Adopter, Hearer of prayer.

1. The purposes of God direct us to ask, seek, knock.

   1. God is directing us to prayer so we may have hope and comfort.

2. Psalm 10:17, James 1:17

   1. God is directing us to prayer so we may receive His good gifts.

   1. God is prompting us to ask, seek, knock for God's best gifts.
