Matthew 2:1-12

Seek Him, Worship Him, Give Gifts to Him

Gentile wise men set an example for the leaders of Israel.

They did not seek Him for their needs, but for his honor.

Isaiah 45: 22 "Look to Me, and be saved, All you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other. 23 I have sworn by Myself; The word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness, And shall not return, That to Me every knee shall bow, Every tongue shall take an oath. 24 He shall say, 'Surely in the LORD I have righteousness and strength. To Him men shall come, And all shall be ashamed Who are incensed against Him.

Matthew 2:2 saying, "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him."

The magi bring the witness of the Gentiles to the glory of God.

Genesis 12:3 I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.

Numbers 24:17 "I see Him, but not now; I behold Him, but not near; A Star shall come out of Jacob; A Scepter shall rise out of Israel, And batter the brow of Moab, And destroy all the sons of tumult.

When God reveals things to you it matters what you do with that knowledge.

Galatians 4:4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,

Phil 2:7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.

2 Corinthians 4:18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal

They who believe God's witness are blessed in seeing Christ.

God gives witness through the words of the prophets.

God gives witness through signs in the creation.

God gives witness through dreams.

Seek Him, worship Him, bring gifts to Him.

Some are seekers, some are hunters, some are ignorant.

Hebrews 5:2 He can have compassion on those who are ignorant and going astray, since he himself is also subject to weakness.

Jeremiah 29:13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

John 8:37 " I know that you are Abraham's descendants, but you seek to kill Me, because My word has no place in you. [... ] 44 "You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.

Bring your worship and your gifts to Him.

Micah 6:8 And what does the LORD require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?

Psalm 96:7 Give to the LORD, O families of the peoples, Give to the LORD glory and strength. 8 Give to the LORD the glory due His name; Bring an offering, and come into His courts.

Psalm 86:9 All nations whom You have made Shall come and worship before You, O Lord, And shall glorify Your name.

Psalm 100:2 Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before His presence with singing.
