Matthew 11:25-30

The Gracious Invitation of the Savior

  I.  Chorazin, Bethsaida, Capernaum–the crowds of witnesses– rejected
Christ’s revelation .
 

  II.  God reveals himself and his salvation to babes.
 

      A.  Christ praises the Father for the revelation of salvation to his
elect. [Luke 10:21; Ezek 18:23; Psalm 87:4-5]
     

      B.  These things are hidden from the wise and prudent. [Romans 1:22]
     

      C.  These things are revealed to babes.
     

      D.  Christ is the only one who can reveal God to whom he wills. [1Cor
1:30; Matt 7:14]
     

   III. Christ’s gracious invitation reveals the heart of true religion.
 

      A.  All who are weary and heavy laden are invited to find rest.
[Isaiah 50:4; Matt 23:4]
     

      B.  Christ graciously invites all of us to find rest in him. [Rom
6:17]
     

      C.  All who come to Christ are provided with an easy yoke. [Lev
26:13; Acts 15:10]
     

      D.  All who come to Christ are provided with a gentle and humble
teacher.
     

      E.  All who come to Christ find rest for their souls.
     

      F.  You must not ignore Christ’s gracious invitation.
