Hebrews 2:8

God's Work and Our Perception

Living on the earth, we must be looking to heaven.

We have to be born of the Spirit, born again, Jesus tells us. [John 3:3]

We are urged to look to the Kingdom of Christ.

2 Cor 17-18 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Heb 2:7-8 You have made him a little lower than the angels; You have crowned him with glory and honor, And set him over the works of Your hands. You have put all things in subjection under his feet." For in that He put all in subjection under him, He left nothing that is not put under him. But now we do not yet see all things put under him.

We are urged to look to Christ.

The Lord reigns! is the way the Bible says "Jesus rules."

Psalm 97:1 The LORD reigns; Let the earth rejoice; Let the multitude of isles be glad!

Matthew 28:18-20

The new world to come has come!

Isaiah 65:17 " For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; And the former shall not be remembered or come to mind.

Isaiah 66:22 " For as the new heavens and the new earth Which I will make shall remain before Me," says the LORD, "So shall your descendants and your name remain.

Revelation 21:1 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.

Eph 1:20-23… He raised Him… seated Him … not only in this age, but also in the one to come…

Rev 1:18 I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.

Yet the kingdom is still coming.

Heb 2:8 …But now we do not yet see all things subjected to him.

Hebrews 12:27 Now this, "Yet once more," indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.

The way into the Kingdom is through the Lord Jesus Christ.

He is the author and prince of salvation.

He carried out the work of salvation.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Jesus tasted death so that we who live by faith in him might feast on life.

1John 4:10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Gal 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for up me.

Rom 5:25 ... whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood...

Christ is crowned with glory and honor, and has entered into his kingdom.

The Church is the most visible part of the Kingdom of Christ on earth.

To feast on life in these last days we must consciously live under the rule of King Jesus.

Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Questions to ask myself.
