Honor Marriage, Cultivate Contentment.

  I.  Two excesses for sinful mankind: sexual desires, material desires.
 

      A.  Intimate desires are corrupted by sin.

      B.  Material desires are corrupted by sin.
        

Prov 22:7; 1 Timothy 6:10

      C.  The conspiracy of three.

  II.  Two correctives: marriage, contentment.
 

      A.  God’s gracious gift of marriage protects from sinful corruptions
of intimacy.
        

Ephesians 5:33

      B.  God’s gracious gift of contentment protects from sinful excesses.
        

Luke 12:30-34

   III. Christians can know purity and contentment.
 

      A.  To the married...
        

Enjoy, be faithful, do not covet, seek God’s kingdom. Heb 12:28.

      B.  To the single...
        

Do not covet, companionship, standards, prayer, accountability.

      C.  To the church...
