Ephesians 6:21-22
Keeping in Touch.
I. Our union in Christ compels us to keep in touch with the members of
the church .
A. The ambassador in chains sends a faithful minister in the Lord to
bring the message he is hindered from personally delivering.
B. United in Christ, the church cares for itself. Eph 1:4, 5, 15,
23; 2:5, 6, 18, 20, 22; 3:15, 17, 21; 4:4-6, 7, 12; 5:1, 10, 17, 19, 21;
6:18.
C. Christians must keep in touch because Christ has made us one; the
church is his body.
II. Our union in Christ means that the work of the church depends on many, not on few.
A. The whole church body participates in the purpose of God. Eph
4:16.
B. Tychicus, beloved and faithful, serving the church. Acts 20:4;
Col 4:7.
C. Sent for this very purpose: to keep in touch and encourage you.
Col 2:1.
D. Our union in Christ means that the gospel cannot be chained.
III. Our union in Christ exists in all circumstances.
A. Watch out for the what hinders you from keeping in touch.
1. Attitudes:
2. I’m too busy.
3. I don’t know too many people well.
B. Since we are many, all have a part and a place in the ministry of
the church.
1. Gifts.
2. Attend evening services.
3. Attend the Lord’s Supper celebration.
4. Have lunch together.
C. Keeping in touch with the church is a duty of love and brings the
blessing of unity and comfort.
