Ephesians 4:29 Sanctity of Speech.

  I.  Words link the heart to the listener.
      A.  Linking your inner self to the rest of the world.
     

      B.  The mouth reveals the heart.
        

Psalm73:15-17, Proverbs 16:23, Proverbs 15:28.

      C.  With the Holy Spirit indwelling, what comes from the heart should
be sanctified.
        

Psalm 19:14, Luke 6:45.

      D.  God’s bridle for the mouth.
        

James 3:8 But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

  II.  Corrupt words are toxic and corrosive.
      A.  Let no rotten word proceed out of your mouth.
     

      B.  A corrupt word soils the mouth and poisons the heart of the
listener.
        

Psalm 140:1-3, James 3:5-6.

      C.  Corrupt words are for demolition purposes.
     

      D.  Corrupt talk grieves the Holy Spirit.
        

Ephesians 1:13, Isaiah 63:9-10, Hebrews 3:7-8.

   III. Good words are edifying and gracious.
      A.  Purposeful conversation.
     

      B.  That it may impart grace to the hearers.
        

Ephesians 4:7, Colossians 4:6,

      C.  All the emotions that foster and accompany foul words must also
be banished.
     

      D.  Replace vile emotions and corrupt words with the grace of
kindness, tenderheartnedness, and forgiveness.
