Things Yet To Come.

Did we miss the second coming of Christ?

Keep calm and be steadfast, don't believe everything you hear.

2Thess 1:4; 2Thess 2:2-3.

Matthew 24:23 "Then if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or 'There!' do not believe it."

Beware of the methods of falsehood.

2Thess 2:2 .... by spirit, by word, by letter as if from us...

by letter as if by us. 2Thessalonians 3:17

Beware of the deceitful messages: rely on the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments.

Ezekiel 30:3; Amos 5:18, 20 Zephaniah 1:7

Joel 2:11 .... For the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; Who can endure it?

The malice in subverting God's Word.

To bring you to ignore God's word; question God's promises; undermine hope; turn you away, and turn you instead toward a false hope.

Don't you remember? (verse 5)

Mystery revealed and mystery at work.

Before the Lord comes.... review what you know.

The falling away comes first.

The man of sin (lawlessness) is revealed.

John 17:12

Psalm 89:22; Psalm 94:20; Daniel 11:31-35

1John 2:18 "Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour."

"You know what is restraining him." verse 6.

Mystery revealed: the adversary's plan will run its course.

Verse 4

His own time will come, v. 6 and v. 8

Mystery at work: the mystery of lawlessness.

V. 7, already at work. V. 9 with lying wonders, v. 10 with unrighteous deception

Job 5:12 He frustrates the devices of the crafty, So that their hands cannot carry out their plans.

Time and timing are in God's control:

then, v. 5 / now, v. 6, 7, 9-10 / then, v. 7, 8 , 11

Evil and its mystery will continue until the Lord's return, but no farther.

2Tim 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.

2Thess 2:10, 11.

John 5:38 "But you do not have His word abiding in you, because whom He sent, Him you do not believe. 39 "You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. 40 "But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.

The Lord will come with brightness and with the power of His word.

Isaiah 11:4 But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, And decide with equity for the meek of the earth; He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked.

Heb 10:24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

Isaiah 11:5-6 Righteousness, faithfulness, the wolf also shall dwell with the lamb...,and a little child shall lead them.
