1Thessalonians 5:23-24

God's is faithful to keep His people blameless.

To be sanctified is to be renewed in God's image through the powerful operation of His Spirit.

Created in God's own image, in knowledge, righteousness, and holiness, mankind lost holiness in Adam when he decided to head in his own moral direction.

Eph 4:24 ...and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

Romans 15:16 that I might be a minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering of the Gentiles might be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

God reclaims us and calls us again into communion with Him and into service for Him.

Exodus 19:6 'And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.'

Deuteronomy 7:6 " For you are a holy people to the LORD your God; the LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth.

1 Peter 1:16 because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy."

To be in communion with Him we have to be re-created. This is why Jesus teaches that we must be born from above, born again. [John 3:3]

2 Thessalonians 2:13 But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth,

Psalm 65:4 Blessed is the man You choose, And cause to approach You, That he may dwell in Your courts. We shall be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, Of Your holy temple.

The God of peace is the initiator, the executor, and the goal of our sanctification.

God calls and works in us to present us to Himself perfect in Christ Jesus.

Colossians 1:27 "that I might present every man perfect in Christ."

Philippians 1:6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;

1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

It is the nature of God, part of His holiness, to be faithful. It is part of His plan to make His people faithful too.

When God the Holy Spirit leads your heart to faith, love, prayer, doing good and abstaining from evil, do not quench Him. Pursue Him.

Though God Himself sanctifies us, the very nature of sanctification is such that we bear the responsibility of doing what comes from being holy.

1Thess 4:3

1Thess 5:8-9

2 Corinthians 7:1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

We must be praying at all times in the Spirit.

1Thess 5:16-18

Verse 25

We must be showing that we love one another. The world will see, the devil will be frustrated, the church will be united and useful our Lord.

1Thess 5:26

"...and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."
